Paul J. Gardner, Partner

Paul and his extended family are lifelong residents of Omaha.  Paul’s father taught medical school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and his three brothers and their family are faithful Nebraskans.  In fact Paul and, Dan Smith, went to school together at Westside High School.

Paul is a devoted father and has actively coached each of his four children to become competitive tennis players in high school and college.  In addition to tennis, Paul is physically always “on the go”—participating in running, biking, golf and other sports. Of course, as graduate of Creighton Law School and University of Nebraska at Lincoln, Paul and his friends  can always be found cheering for the “Blue Jays” and “Cornhuskers.”  Paul is active in the civic community as well—he is has participated in Leadership Omaha, Omaha Tennis Association and various other local organizations.  Paul has been an avid chess player since high school and through various tournament play achieved master points in the U.S. Chess Federation.

Professionally, Paul focuses his practice on solving the business problems for his clients.  Paul often times credits his years of analyzing chess problems for his ability to evaluate complicated legal issues.  His familiarity in tax and financial accounting provides the insight to facilitate complex commercial transactions—whether it be a real estate loan,  business acquisition, or high income/net worth divorce.  In recent years, Paul has used his knowledge and experience to mediate—“act as a go-between”—in complex commercial controversies.  In this regard, Paul uses his ability to “crunch the numbers” as well as his legal experience to find “real” solutions to “real world” problems.
